Description
The River Murray is one of the most magnificent parts of Australia. Its still waters, its towering cliffs, forests, lagoons and a large variety of bird life are a delight to see.
The romantic era of working paddlesteamers may have passed, but evidence of that time remains.
Today we no longer see large numbers of these vessels upon the river, but sufficient remain on or near the Murray for us to have a glimpse of what it must have been like so many years ago.
This book presents photos and information about the historic paddlesteamers which you can still see today, whether working, on display or laid up, as well as several more modern vessels.
It is not intended to be a substantial history, but rather a helpful guide to most of the significant boats on the River Murray today.
